Miss Sophie has trained at the Vicki Durning School of Dance since the age of three, where she developed a strong technical foundation and achieved numerous awards and accreditations through both examinations and competitions. Her standout accomplishments include becoming a national All England gold medallist, overall senior cabaret and classical trophy winner, and a nominee for ballet, modern, and tap scholarships.

She discovered her passion for teaching at just 16 and has since gone on to become a qualified Associate Teacher with the IDTA, achieving an outstanding 98% in her most recent examination. Alongside her teaching qualifications, Miss Sophie has extensive performance and leadership experience, having served as both Competition Captain and Club Captain of a highly ranked university dance squad. She has choreographed many successful routines, earning recognition that led to her being awarded North Yorkshire Coach of the Year in 2019.

Academically, Miss Sophie holds a First Class Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Therapy, with a specialist interest in dance science and anatomy. She now also works within the sports department at a leading grammar school in Leeds, further broadening her experience in athletic development and education.

Miss Sophie brings a wealth of knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm to her classes, creating a fun and inspiring environment that students won’t want to miss.

Miss Fiona began her training at the Michelle Rose Ballet School at the age of four, progressing through all RAD Ballet examinations up to Advanced level. One of her proudest achievements was performing as a soloist with the English Youth Ballet, showcasing her strength and artistry on a professional stage.

Alongside her performance experience, Miss Fiona demonstrated strong leadership during her time at university, where she served as Competition Captain and Vice Club Captain of a highly ranked dance squad. She also choreographed a series of unbeaten ballet routines, reflecting both her creativity and technical expertise.

In addition to dance, Miss Fiona has trained in gymnastics since the age of six, competing at county level and achieving a Level 2 Gymnastics Coaching qualification. She holds a First Class degree in Sports Coaching and is currently a PE teacher specialising in dance at The Mount School York.

Miss Fiona’s passion for dance and teaching shines through in every class, where she creates an engaging, supportive, and inspiring environment for all students.
